Pineapple Kebabs with Chocolate Sauce

  • Fresh pineapples
  • Demerara sugar (raw sugar may substitute)
  • 250g/8oz good quality dark chocolate
  • 1 cup cream

and strong wooden skewers.

Soak wooden skewers in water for at least an hour.

Remove skin from pineapples and slice the fruit lengthwise to make long, thick-ish pieces. Put a skewer in each the long way, and roll in the sugar to coat.

Place skewers on the grill or BBQ and let the sugar caramelise and get a little blackened.

While the pineapple kebabs are grilling, melt the chocolate and cream together in a bowl and stir together to make a dipping sauce for the kebabs.

Eat kebabs with chocolate sauce because they are delicious.
